Empty Nets
Wrote and Directed a literary adaptation of Luke 5:1-11 focusing on the relationship between two brothers as they struggle to catch fish.
About the film
For this project I lead the creative vision across all departments with a team of around 35 people. Animated in Maya and rendered in Blender, we experimented with a painted style and stepped animation that is reminiscent of stop motion animation. The film was nominated for Lipscomb University’s Five Minute Film Festival.
I wanted to tell this story because of the personal ties of sibling squabbles and the Biblical truth that it’s not by our strength, but only through God and the community around us can we do miraculous things. It was important for me to have a story that was relatable to anyone while also sharing my Christian faith.
I hope you enjoy this story as much as I did making it.
